Fires in High-Rise Buildings (Causes, Development and Effects)
A fire in a high-rise building poses a serious threat to life. The paper discusses the causes, development and effects of such fires. A building, designed in accordance with the relevant building regulations, will not always ensure the safety of the occupants' lives, as the fire threat is directly related to the combustible contents of a building. 'Fire safety' is therefore a combination of effective building design, organization to eliminate fire hazards, and effective control of the combustible contents of a building.
