Ehrlich Lake Dam is located in Montgomery County, Missouri, on an unnamed tributary to Coon Creek. The dam was constructed to impound water for crop irrigation. The top of the dam which serves as an access road for farm equipment does not have adequate erosion protection. Some minor damage due to the vehicular traffic was observed. A small depression was observed on the crest at the point where the principal spillway pipe passes through the embankment which appears to be due to settlement of backfill placed in the pipe excavation. No other settlements of the crest or cracks were observed. No significant deviation in the vertical or horizontal alignment was apparent, other than the curved alignment as originally constructed. According to Mr. Ehrlich, the dam has never been overtopped and no evidence indicating the contrary was observed.
