Design of Decking Panels with Intermediate Stiffeners
A programme of tests of cold-formed floor decking panels has been undertaken in the School of Civil and Mining Engineering at the University of Sydney. Twenty-seven specimens were tested in flexure in a purpose built test rig to determine the structural behavior of the decking panels when subject to pure flexural loads. Tangent stiffness, stress distributions, buckling moments and ultimate moments were recorded for comparison with numerical predictions and design estimates. The tests have been described in detail in two reports by Bernard, Bridge and Hancock (1992a, 1992b).
