Pressuremeter to Predict Lateral Load Capacity of Drilled Shafts on Slope
A research project has been carried out to achieve three major objectives related to laterally loaded drilled shafts: (1) development of methodology for accounting for the influence of the slope on the p-y curves, (2) re-evaluation and updating existing ODOT's design guidelines for the drilled shafts as foundations for the noise barrier walls, and (3) development of an analysis and design methods for the drilled shafts in stabilizing the embankment and slopes. A total of nine (9) lateral load tests on fully instrumented drilled shafts have been conducted at four projects sites.
