The two main objectives of the project were: First, to institutionalize, within the American Institute of Architects, a mechanism for providing, on a regular and sustained basis, state-of-the-art information on eldercare issues to the environmental design community and the public that it serves; and second, to undertake with the American Occupational Therapy Association a joint information development and outreach program for architects and occupational therapists on facilities-related eldercare issues.
