There are three ways to reduce the cost of housing: use a design with minimum materials; select materials for maximum economy; and reduce the amount of manual labor to be contracted. The pamphlet describes a structure which incorporates each of these concepts. Technique for House Nailing. The strength and durability of any structure is dependant on how the joints are constructed or nailed. This document is a basic description of how to nail joints in cement, in wood, for floors, roof beams, floor supports, wall supports. It reviews the proper nail size for different jobs. A glossary of technical terms included.
