Strength and Behavior of Laced Reinforced Concrete Slabs under Static Dynamic Load
The purpose of this project was to evaluate the behavior of laced reinforced concrete members when subjected to short duration dynamic loads similar to that produced by high-explosive detonations. The primary objective was to establish the increase in stresses and strains in a laced member under dynamic load relative to those produced in the member under static load. Secondary objectives were to evaluate the following characteristics of a laced reinforced concrete member: (a) the dynamic strength throughout the entire range of ductile response, (b) rotation capacity of the member at clamped supports, and (c) the dynamic versus static response under uniform load.
