S. D. 63 From Approximately 1.0 Miles North of the Cheyenne River Southerly to the Stanley-Haakon County Line. Ziebach and Haakon Counties, South Dakota
This project begins approximately 1.0 mile north of the Cheyenne River on State Highway 63, continues southeasterly to the Cheyenne River to a new bridge. The new bridge being approximately 600 feet down stream from the old structure. The new construction continues southeasterly approximately 1.0 mile, thence turning east to the Stanley-Haakon county line rejoining existing State Highway 63. In a remote, sparsely settled ranching area such as this, an all weather highway is of prime importance for school, religious, medical, and cultural purposes. This highway designed to modern safety standards, is considered a benefit and necessity for this area of the state. Acquisition of right of way is an unavoidable adverse environmental effect. Dust and noise will prevail during the construction period.
