Area Energy Analysis: Computer Analysis of Building Clusters. Special Case: Window Insulations in the Swedish Building Stock
The report details a computer spreadsheet model that has been used to track energy turnover within the Swedish building stock. As a practical example of possible applications, the role of windows and window improvements is highlighted. It is shown that compared with net annual energy demands for heating and hot water at 75.1 TWh, energy savings due to window improvements range between 6.4 and 25.8 TWh/y. Limit potentials per area of window insulations are more than seven times greater than for remaining building enclosures.
