Newburgh-Hampden Experimental Paving Project
The report consists of five independent phases; each one dealing with a specific pavement property. These five phases consist of (1) visual observations, (2) mixture study results, (3) asphalt properties, (4) compaction and (5) a serviceability index rating according to CHLOE profilometer. The conclusions are drawn by assigning weighted values to the various phases. The weighted results indicate that a softer grade asphalt cement (120-150 grade) combined with commercial fillers performs better than harder grades of asphalt with natural sand fillers. (Author)
