Futures Studies in Sweden on Building and Planning
The purpose of this survey is to review briefly and present examples of forecasting methods used in the Swedish housing, building and planning system. It is not intended to review all the literature, all the results of previous research or committee work but to throw some more light on forecasting activity. It attempts: (1) to give a brief introduction to the long-term planning systems where forecasting is used, (2) to show the institutions dealing with futures studies of particular interest, and (3) to describe some experiences of forecasting as observed by Swedish practitioners.
