National Program for Inspection of Non-Federal Dams. Hillside Beach (MA 00600) Connecticut River Basin, South Hadley, Massachusetts. Phase I Inspection Report
The dam is a 332 ft. long, 21 ft. high, gravity earth embankment structure with a concrete core wall, concrete intake structure and a 10'-10 in. long, 3 ft. high overflow spillway. It is generally in poor condition. The dam has a size of small and a hazard potential of high. It is recommended that the owner engage a qualified engineer to design repairs for these seriously eroded areas and to improve the spillway capacity.
