Detection of Microcracks in Concrete Cured at Elevated Temperature
The Florida Department of Transportation specifies a maximum differential temperature of 35 degrees F, between the exterior and interior portions of the mass concrete elements during curing. The specification does not specify a maximum curing temperature or a maximum placing temperature. The objective of this research project was to determine if high temperature levels during curing of concrete cause microcracks in the concrete matrix.
