The work under consideration is the maintenance of completed channels and structures in the deep-draft navigation project for Fairport Harbor, Ohio. The project features requiring maintenance are a breakwater system protecting an outer harbor, piers on both sides of the entrance to Grand River, and dredged areas in the harbor and river. There are no significant adverse effects of structure repairs or dredging. Disposal of dredged material causes adverse effects to the extent that polluted material is placed in Lake Erie at a more rapid rate than would result from natural processes. (Author)
