Proposed Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail
It is proposed to establish an 874 mile long Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail, to generally follow the shore of the Potomac River and pass through the District of Columbia and the states of Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. Construction of this trail for non-motorized public recreation use and related support facilities where none now exists would require minor modification of the terrain and vegetation.
