Seattle Model Neighborhood Planning Project
A project (1968-1972) to determine the effectiveness of coordinating the efforts of the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services with the Seattle model neighborhood program in planning social welfare programs found that the planning process was successful in establishing a number of service and organization projects and that effective program planning required citizen involvement and a signoff process for effective planning between two institutions. Participation on a welfare task committee was open to any model neighborhood resident.
