The Center for Anthropological Studies recently completed an intensive archeological field investigation for the Montoya Sand and Gravel Company of Bernalillo, New Mexico. The project area encompassed approximately 27 acres of land presently administered by the USDI Bureau of Land Management. No prehistoric or historic archeological sites were encountered during the survey and, therefore, it is recommended that an archeological clearance be granted for the proposed mining of sand and gravel from this area.
