Environmental Guidebook for Construction
The Environmental Guidebook for Construction is designed to help construction people understand how their work relates to the environment. The outcome of man's intrusion on nature is often determined by individual decisions and actions during the course of construction. The cumulative effect of myriads of such small and large decisions may determine the ultimate aesthetic and ecological conditions of the project environment. This guidebook is not a supplement to the environmental controls found in Bureau of Reclamation contract specifications, but rather gives ideas and suggestions to the individual worker and his supervisor about environmental practices they can apply while performing everyday duties. Each construction worker should accept the responsibility of reducing to a minimum the adverse impact of his work, both on the environment and on the community.
