Competitiveness of the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area and the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport: Building and Using a Knowledge Base
This University of Minnesota study examines the role of air transportation-particularly the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport-in the economy of the Twin Cities and the State of Minnesota. In so doing, the study attempts to understand the competitive position of our area in the global economy vis-a-vis the air transportation infrastructure, focusing on exports-producing industries as the driving force behind the region's economy. Additionally, knowledge gained from the economic analysis is applied to current and future challenges in marketing the airport and the Twin Cities metropolitan area.
