Experimental Investigation of a Seven Story Shear Wall Plexiglas Model
The project deals with lateral load distribution in non-lineal concrete shear wall systems. The work is being performed along two lines: Theoretical analysis using the finite element method and other more approximate techniques and experimental studies using fairly large micro-concrete models. The objective of the investigation is to recommend practical guidelines for the economical design of shear walls to resist lateral loads safely. This report presents the experimental and theoretical results for a one-thirtieth scale plexiglas model of a seven story shear wall building.
