The house plans shown in this booklet are the award winning designs resulting from a Residential Passive Solar Energy Design Competition for North Carolina which was held between November 1, 1978 and April 9, 1979. This design competition was held by the North Carolina Solar Energy Association under contract from the North Carolina Energy Institute. It is felt that the award winning designs represent a reasonable cross-section of the current status of passive residential solar design. (ERA citation 05:009959)
