A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
The Department of Public Works' Eastern Massachusetts Regional Planning Staff has included in its work program a Historic Sites Study, and in the future a similar study of recreation and scenic areas within the Eastern Massachusetts region. In coordination with the Massachusetts Historical Commission the Massachusetts Department of Public Works is collecting inventory data on historic sites in forty Eastern Massachusetts communities affected by the proposed 1975 highway network. The inventory is not limited to only those structures and areas which are well known in the Commonwealth or which are open to the public but includes structures which are architecturally or historically significant to the local community.
