Annual Housing Survey: 1978. Housing Characteristics for Selected Metropolitan Areas: Cincinnati, Ohio-Ky.-Ind., Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area
This report presents statistics on housing and household characteristics from the 1978 - 1979 Annual Housing Survey conducted in the Cincinnati, Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area (SMSA's). Information is provided on the size and composition of the housing inventory, the occupants' characteristics, changes in the inventory resulting from new construction and from losses, the indicators of housing and neighborhood quality, and the characteristics of recent movers. Data are presented separately for ''in central cities'' and for ''not in central cities.'' Selected housing characteristics are given for 1970, 1975, and 1978, and characteristics of housing units removed from the housing inventory are given for 1975. Statistics on housing and neighborhood quality, financial characteristics, general housing characteristics, and recent - mover households are broken down for black and Spanish heads of households. The 1978 survey indicates a net gain of 27,600 housing units for this SMSA from the 1975 estimate. About 5 percent of the total housing stock in the Cincinnati metropolitan area was constructed since the last survey in 1975. Table finding guides; a discussion of the source and reliability of the estimates; and area classifications, definitions and explanations of subject characteristics, and a facsimile of the survey questionnaire of 1978 are appended. Maps are included.
