Seismic Design of Highway Bridge Foundations. Volume 3. Example Problems and Sensitivity Studies
Presented in the report are guidelines for use in the seismic-resistant foundation design of typical highway bridges which will be of interest to highway bridge engineers, structural engineers, and researchers. The report represents the present state-of-the-art in assessing the resistance of substructure elements to earthquake loading. The analytic procedures were applied to existing bridges and found to provide reasonable results. The major emphasis is on pile foundations in the study.
