Analysis of Reinforced Concrete Containment Vessels With Nonlinear Shearing Stiffness
This report summarizes the development of a 3-D nonlinear finite element analytical capability of reinforced concrete shell structures, and gives the results of a series of analyses of cylindrical containment vessels subjected to internal pressure and idealized seismic forces. The nonlinear shear stiffness relations used in the analysis were derived from earlier experimental research conducted at Cornell University and the PCA Labs.
