The proposal is for the construction of a 12-story high-rise structure of 154 studio, 88 one-bedroom and one two-bedroom apartments. The first floor will include space for meetings, social activities, storage, and mechanical uses, etc. The structure is to occupy a site in northwest Portland of some 72,000 square feet. The dwellings would generally be occupied by elderly, single persons and couples of moderate income. The site is located in an area of mixed commercial, residential and some light industrial use and is presently vacant. Probable impacts of the proposed action on the environment are discussed.
