Asphalt Roofing Industry Manual Emission Testing Modified Bitumen, U.S. Intec, Port Arthur, Texas. Volume 2
The asphalt roofing industry is among the categories of major sources for which national emission standards for hazardous air pollutants (NESHAPS) are to be issued by November 2000 pursuant to Section 112 of the Clean Air Act. The asphalt roofing industry category includes facilities that have the following specific processes: asphalt blowing stills: modified bitumen production; a saturator/coater process; and fiberglass mat production. Source tests are required to quantify and characterize the particulate matter (PM) and hazardous air pollutant (HAP) emissions, and the performance of a thermal oxidizer used to control emissions associated with a modified bitumen facility.
