Thermal Comfort Requirement Adjacent to Cold Walls-Application to Glazed Opening
The thermal comfort of an individual inside a closed room in winter is essentially a function of the temperature of the air with which the human body transfers heat by convection, and also of the temperature of the room's walls with which the human body transfers heat by radiation. The presence of glazed openings (windows) which in winter are generally the coldest walls in a residence room, can thus be a source of discomfort. The first part of the research determines the thermal comfort requirement near a cold wall. The second part studies ways of satisfying the requirement near glazed openings in a living room in winter.
