The major goal of the Bridge Construction Expert System (BCX) is to asist young bridge engineers and inspectors in determining the extent of damage due to construction errors and specifying the necessary repair solution. BCX was created to provide a unified repair procedure by gathering domain expertise from designers, construction engineers, inspectors and contractors. The goal was to create a system that would provide the most suitable repair in a timely manner and provide training to prevent future errors from occurring.
