The paper describes three solar dwellings built as part of a major research project on energy conservation in Norwegian dwellings - the Heimdal project. The overall objective of the project, which consists of fourteen dwellings, was to demonstrate and evaluate the effect of various energy conservation measures and the use of alternative energy sources in typical Norwegian single family dwellings.
