National Resource and Policy Center on Housing and Long Term Care
The mission of the National Resource and Policy Center on Housing and Long Term Care, was to make housing a more integral component of a comprehensive long term care (LTC) system. Our goals were to promote the concept of aging in place, help improve the coordination of housing and services, maximize single family housing as a LTC resource, and increase residential alternatives to nursing homes for frail older persons. To carry out its mission and goals, the Center had three objectives: Objective 1: To improve aging and housing network capacities to plan and coordinate housing and supportive services; Objective 2: To examine LTC and housing best practices that promote aging in place, foster innovation and expand housing option; and Objective 3: To develop blueprints for action that equip the aging and housing networks with visionary ideas and programs.
