Annual Housing Survey: 1978. Housing Characteristics for Selected Metropolitan Areas: Colorado Springs, Colo., Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area
The report presents statistics on housing and household characteristics from the 1978 - 1979 Annual Housing Survey conducted in Colorado Springs, Colo., standard metropolitan statistical area (SMSA). Separate data are shown for ''in central cities'' and ''not in central cities,'' as well as for the SMSA as a whole. Tables present selected housing characteristics for 1978, 1975, and 1970; characteristics of new construction units; 1975 characteristics of housing units removed from the housing inventory; and characteristics of vacant year - round housing units. Tables also present statistics on indicators of housing and neighborhood quality, on financial characteristics, and on recent mover households. The same subject content is presented for households with black and Spanish household heads. Additional tables show cross - tabulations of the indicators of housing and neighborhood quality by income, value, and gross rent. Results indicate a net gain of 7,500 housing units over the revised 1975 estimate. Approximately 6 percent of the total housing stock in this SMSA was constructed since the 1975 survey. Appendices include information on sample design, estimation, and data accuracy, as well as descriptions of geographic area classifications and explanations of the subjects covered.
