Steel Fiber Reinforced Superplasticized Concretes for Rehabilitation of Bridge Decks and Highway Pavements
The primary objective of the research is to develop tough, high-strength, high density, durable concrete for the construction of bridge decks and other structures through the use of superplasticizers and steel fibers. The study was conducted in two phases. In the first phase, basic properties of superplasticized concretes were investigated. In the second phase, steel fiber reinforced superplasticized concretes were evaluated for their basic properties and performance characteristics. The experimental work conformed to the requirements dictated by statistically valid factorial designs, so that analysis of variance could be used in the evaluation. Results of the second phase of investigation are presented in the report.
