Airfield Complex, Campbell Army Airfield (CAAF) Phase I, Fort Campbell, Kentucky
Phase I of the Airfield Complex includes construction of four maintenance hangars for a total of 149,972 square feet, a direct support hangar of 32,400 square feet, and a natural gas-fired central heating plant. Included with this complex will be 177,850 square yards of aircraft pavement and 55,700 square yards of vehicle pavement. These facilities will provide permanent maintenance and operational support for 62 helicopters. Aircraft noise is considered to be the only factor resulting from this construction with a significant impact upon the environment. (Author)
