A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
A first, broad, overview of biomass liquefaction is presented. Four desirable chemical conversion routes that may be useful in the liquefaction of wood have been identified. Process conceptualization has been attempted based on an analysis of changes in physical structure, elemental composition and chemical transformation that may occur during liquefaction. Possible process streams have been characterized and likely separation procedures identified. (ERA citation 05:005491)
