A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
The Wick House was used by Major General Arthur St. Clair for quarters during the winter encampment of 1779-80 at Morristown, New Jersey. This study is expected to serve as the basis for a definitive furnishing plan. Such a presentation is needed to support interpretation of the site. This research report was completed against the background of an earlier report of 1936 on the furnishings of this house. It is anticipated that it will supplement already known information. Of special interest are the property inventries of Henry and Mary Wick, as well as those of other residents of Morris County of the same period. In the absence of any considerable body of new material, the present report is intended only to supplement material already available, so as to make the property inventories more meaningful and relevant to farm life. The report includes a bibliography and a restored first floow plan of the Wick House. (Author)
