Alternate Mechanical Systems Analysis for Restoration of Lincoln's Home. Lincoln Home National Historic Site, Springfield, Illinois
The purpose of the study is to examine alternate mechanical HVAC systems for the restored home. Improvements to the building coupled with a new mechanical system will conserve energy and allow closer control of interior climatic conditions to preserve furnishings. Four alternate HVAC systems were examined and modeled for computerized systems analysis. A description of each system along with some apparent advantages and disadvantages follows. Short summaries of these systems along with schematic sketches are included.
