A program to design, build, test and deliver two 1KW turret integrated xenon illuminators has been completed. The formal nomenclature approved for this unit is the 'AN/VSS-4(XE-1) searchlight'. The searchlight is designed to interface with the existing dimensions of the product improved M60A1 tank turret. This report covers the design, the fabrication, and the results of the electrical/optical and environmental tests.
