Lateral-Buckling Strengths of Cold-Formed Z-Section Beams
Cold-formed Z (CFZ) beams are commonly loaded in the plane of the web, which is not a principal plane. This loading causes biaxial bending about both principal axes. In order to study the biaxial bending behavior and strengths of CZF beams, the behavior and strengths of CFZ beams bent in the major principal plane need first to be investigated. This paper is concerned with the inelastic lateral buckling strengths of CFZ beams bent about the geometrical major principal axis.
