This report presents the results of the geotechnical investigation performed for a proposed Decontamination and Waste Treatment Facility (DWTF) at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) in Livermore, California. The site is located in the northeast corner of the LLNL complex. The purpose of the study was to investigate the subsurface conditions and evaluate the suitable foundation types for the proposed construction. This report presents a description of the soil and ground water conditions encountered during the field exploration; an analysis and evaluation of the laboratory test data obtained; and the recommendations for the design and construction of foundations for the proposed structures. The drilling and laboratory testing were performed, respectively, by LLNL subcontractors, Pitcher Drilling and Berlogar Geotechnical Consultants. 6 refs. (ERA citation 13:035865)
