The improvement of Whipple Avenue (STA-297) is in Stark County, Ohio and for more than one mile skirts the west limits of the city of Canton. The improvement, divided in three construction sections with a total length of 4.5 miles, consists of constructing a four and five lane roadway to replace the existing two lane roadway, construction of a railroad underpass, and constructing a trunk storm sewer. The various environmental impact effects are discussed.
