Portland Cement Concrete Pavements. Performance Related To: Design-Construction-Maintenance
In conducting this investigation, detailed surveys on 85 pavement projects in 7 States were made. These pavements were generally under 15 years old, and included plain pavements, both with and without dowels, conventionally reinforced and continuously reinforced pavements. The results of this investigation are contained in the report as prepared by PCA. Some of the aspects of Portland Cement Concrete pavements covered include: (1) Categories and characteristics of PCC pavements; (2) Pavement problems, their causes and required maintenance; (3) A pavement performance and condition survey; (4) A charted summary, design, and construction practices of the States (available separately on request); (5) Construction and maintenance costs; and (6) Design and construction recommendations.
