Landslide Hazard in the United States: A Research Assessment
Losses from landslides are rising as residential growth expands into marginal areas. Landslides cause damages of hundreds of millions of dollars annually. This report discusses various methods of coping with the hazard, evaluates them in terms of their effectiveness in reducing losses, and recommends research on the adjustments that could result in the largest reductions in the losses now incurred. Bibliography and literature review contained.
