The National Swedish Road and Traffic Research Institute made in 1978 a study of the tire wear resulting from newly paved roads of the type surface treatment and asphalt concrete respectively. These types represent a rough and an even pavement. The National Swedish Road Administration then ordered the institute to perform a corresponding study of some pavements which had been highly trafficked during some years. The results from the study show that practically the same relation between the tire wears is received for the pavements included in this new study as for the pavements in 1978 year's study.
