Results of a subsurface investigation in a 66-foot deep test pit constructed in Lafayette Square within Phase 1 of the proposed subway line are summarized. The report contains a log of the test pit, a geological section through Lafayette Square, engineering laboratory test results on hand-cut cube samples from the test pit and conclusions regarding subsoil properties.
