This ordinance provides the governing authority of York with regulatory measures for meeting future as well as present-day needs for the promotion of the health, safety, and general welfare of the citizens of York. It regulates such matters as the height, number of stories and size of buildings and other structures, the percentage of lot area that may be built upon, the size of yards, courts, and other open spaces, the density of the population, the use of structures, the use of the land for such purposes as commerce, industry, residential development, recreation and other purposes.
