Middle Georgia Regional Highway Study, Phase II. Report Number 4. North-South Highway Need Study in Mid-Houston County
The report studies the need for a new north-south travel facility in Houston County. In view of the expected major increases in urbanization a gravity model type travel forecasting procedure was used. A comparison was made of the available roadway capacity and the future travel demand along the north-south corridor in the county. The analyses indicated capacity deficiencies in the urbanizing areas and a need for additional arterial facilities in Warner Robins. The study recommends that a new facility is required linking the Macon Area Airport, the western limits of Warner Robins with an existing facility which leads to the City of Perry.
