Investigation of Traffic Induced Vibrations and Their Effects on the Concrete Decks of Highway Bridges
The purpose of this research study was to determine if there was any correlation between the bridge deck deterioration of certain bridges which are extremely sensitive to vibrations and the vibrations that are induced by heavy trucks. The objectives of the research was to measure and analyze the vibration induced stresses on the decks of selected simple and continuous span steel girder bridges and to relate these stresses to the design features.
