Distortional Effects of Curved I Girder Bridges
The purpose of this study is to present a simplified means for determining more accurately the stress distribution in curved girder bridge systems, considering web distortion. The distortional response of a single span curved girder bridge system is determined by application of a finite difference procedure. This procedure was then computerized, resulting in a series of design equations. A complete design example is given, in order to illustrate the application of these equations.
