Composite Steel and Concrete Beams with Partial Shear Connection
The publication presents the theoretical and experimental results of a research program on composite beams with partial shear connection in buildings. It covers both simply supported and continuous beams. The results provide information on the influence of the number of shear connectors on the behavior of composite beams. It is clearly illustrated that the deformation capacity of connectors has a significant influence on the resistance of composite beams with partial shear connection. Simplified methods for ductile and non-ductile shear connectors suitable for the daily engineering practice are derived from the partial connection theory.
